Paul is writing to encourage the church of Thessalonica. At first, this passage doesn't appear to be encouraging as it discusses judgment. However, as we ponder these truths, they are incredibly comforting because God’s justice is right, holy, and loving. As recipients of grace, we have nothing to fear. Those not experiencing God’s grace have everything to fear.
