Mike Thomas – Senior Pastor

It is a privilege to be the pastor at Trinity Baptist Church. Please allow me to tell you a little bit about myself. I was born in Elkhart, IN, and called the northwest side of Indianapolis my home for six years. I grew up attending church and learning about God, but at the age of fourteen, I realized that being religious still left me a sinner in need of a Savior. As God worked in my heart, I turned from my sin and trusted Jesus Christ as my Savior. Over the next few years I sensed God calling me into the pastoral ministry and pursued that vocation in college and seminary. After graduation, I had the privilege of serving as an assistant pastor for 10 years in northern Indiana, eight of those years at Community Baptist Church in South Bend.

My passion as a pastor is to be the loving, humble shepherd God has called me to be. I love to preach and exposit the Word of God and see it transform lives. I am committed to the inerrancy, sufficiency, and absolute authority of Scripture and to seeing it lived out in our church life. More than anything I want God to be glorified in how I lead our church to worship, fellowship, and make disciples.

Through providential circumstances, the Lord brought my best friend, Jennifer, into my life, and we were married in 2003. God has since blessed us with two wonderful girls—Kyla and Cora, and next to being a child of God, being a husband and father is my greatest joy in life. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my girls, running, reading, and watching and playing all kinds of sports.
